Motorcycle Expeditions: Terms & Ground Rules
We operate high-altitude expeditions in one of the most rugged and unpredictable environments on earth. Our policies are built on mutual trust, safety, and the real-world logistics of riding in Ladakh.
When you ride with us, here is how we handle the business side of the adventure.
1. Booking & Payment: The "Trust First" Approach
We know that booking a Himalayan trip requires trust. That is why we do not demand the full payment upfront.

The Seat Lock: To confirm your slot on an expedition, we require a non-refundable token deposit of just ₹2,500 per rider. This allows us to immediately secure your permits, hotel rooms, and backup logistics.

Balance Payment in Leh: The full remaining balance is only paid when you arrive in Ladakh. It will be collected at your pre-booked hotel during our detailed trip and safety briefing.

No Pay, No Keys: The invoice must be cleared in full via Cash, UPI, or Bank Transfer before any rider is handed the keys to their motorcycle.
2. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Because our upfront deposit is kept intentionally low, the ₹2,500 is strictly non-refundable. However, we understand that emergencies happen.

The Goodwill Reschedule: If you have an emergency and notify us at least 15 days before your departure date, we will give you one free date change. You can move your ₹2,500 credit to any other available Dustandtrails departure within the same riding season.

Late Cancellations: If you cancel within 15 days of the tour start date, the ₹2,500 deposit is entirely forfeited to cover our unrecoverable vendor advances.

Mid-Tour Dropouts: Once the tour has commenced, no refunds will be issued under any circumstances. If you leave the expedition early for any reason, you will not be refunded for the unused days.

3. The Realities of the Road (Ground Rules)

Mandatory Licensing & ID: You must hold a valid motorcycle driving license appropriate for the bike you are riding. International riders must carry a valid International Driving Permit. You must also present a valid Government Photo ID (Aadhar, Voter ID, or Passport). PAN Cards are not accepted.

Luggage Limits: Space in our 4x4 backup support vehicle is strictly calculated. You are allowed one piece of luggage weighing no more than 10 kg.

Damage Liability: Adventure riding carries risk. If you drop or crash the motorcycle, you are fully responsible for the cost of the replacement parts and repair labor.

Mid-Tour Bike Transport: If you abandon the ride mid-tour (due to altitude sickness, injury, or personal choice), you are 100% financially responsible for the cost of loading your motorcycle onto a transport truck from that location back to our base in Leh.
4. Safety, Elements & Legal

Acts of God (Force Majeure): We do not dictate Ladakh's weather. Dustandtrails reserves the right to alter the itinerary without prior notice due to snowstorms, landslides, flash floods, or military restrictions. We are not liable for refunds or extra expenses caused by these natural delays.

Travel & Medical Insurance: We strongly recommend obtaining comprehensive travel insurance before your trip that specifically covers motorcycle touring, high-altitude travel, and emergency medical evacuation.

Media & Photography: We frequently take photos or videos during the expedition for promotional use. If you prefer not to appear on camera, simply inform our team before the tour begins.

Jurisdiction: These terms are governed by the applicable laws of India. Any disputes will be handled exclusively by a competent forum in Ladakh.
